ABOUT
Easter is love is the theme of the 2012 Easter postcard campaign.
The back of the card will say “Share it!” and have a space for congregations to put their Easter service and event times.
The Queensland Synod’s Uniting Communications are again partnering with congregations to produce high-quality, low-cost resources for Easter outreach in local communities.
This campaign aims to present an image of the local Uniting Church as a place to worship and reconnect with the Easter story.
The use of the word ‘love’ in many different languages represents the diverse nature of our multi-cultural church. By using this theme we aim to encapsulate that Easter is a time of community and of people all over the world, from different cultures and who speak different languages, coming together as the body of Christ to celebrate resurrection.
Again our theme stems from one of the Call statements the Uniting Church in Queensland’s made in its 2020 Vision: Acting with love.
Additional materials provided online will include copies of the artwork for local congregational use, PowerPoint templates, video worship resources and inclusion in the online list of Easter service times and locations.
Queensland congregations that do not participate in the Easter campaign can still sign up to a special section on the Queensland Synod website (www.ucaqld.com.au) listing the Easter service times and locations.
If you have resources relating to the theme or ideas for using this theme (e.g. church banner patterns using the theme) that you want to share with the wider church please email journey@ucaqld.com.au.
COSTS
Starter pack: 3000 postcards and 10 full colour A3 posters – $185 (includes packing and postage to your congregation or delivery to your presbytery meeting, if printing timelines allow). Additional postcards are available at $150 for 3000 (minimum lot) and posters at $20 for packs of 10.
An invoice will be sent addressed to your treasurer in April. Please fill in the billing address section in the registration form.
ART
Postcards will have the full colour Easter is love theme and artwork on one side.
The back will display the invitation “Share it!”, plus the congregation’s individual contact information, Easter service times and events in black and white. But remember – less is more!
A3 Posters in full colour gloss will have the same theme and matching artwork and will have a small blank space for you to write a message. These are designed for placement in shopping centres, community notice boards and your church.
Postcards can be distributed by contract letterbox delivery services at around $45 per 1000 or by Australia Post or other organisations (contact your local Post office for information) or can be hand delivered by congregation members. This service is not provided by Uniting Communications.
When delivering please do not put in letter boxes with “no junk mail” or “Australia post only” signs. While we don’t think this is junk mail, people have complained in the past.
Please include service and event times, a contact person and number and/or email (not just the church office) and other information for the back of the postcard by the deadline. Given the date of Easter this year we have a very short turnaround for orders.
