INSTRUCTIONS

The information you enter here will be included in the full rebuild of the Synod's www.ucaqld.com.au which is currently underway. It will feature a greater focus on connecting non-Uniting Church people with our faith and the life of our congregations.

One important feature of the new site will be a fully searchable database of Uniting Church worship centres and times of worship. This database will also be searchable by postcode. People will be able to type in their postcode and see a list of congregations in and near their local area together with service times, map and picture of the church building from the street so they will be able to find it quickly.

Please enter one separate record for each worship centre and please ensure that each worship location is only entered once. Once entered you may update or add to your details at any time.

Congregation name is the name you call yourselves (e.g. " St Andrews Uniting Church").

Also known as. If you have an alternate name (e.g. " Yeppoon Uniting Church) please enter that also. The database will also be searchable by name so it is useful to have a suburb/town name in one of the titles.

Telephone is the number you would like people to call when they wish to enquire about service times.

Worship address. It is important that the accurate street address and number are recorded here. If the church is on a corner put " Cnr Smith Street and Cantaloupe Avenue". The aim here is to help people find the property quickly and easily.

Serving postcodes. Please list here every the postcodes that people might realistically travel from to worship with your congregation. Some churches may need to enter a large number of postcodes. Information can be accessed from Australia Post's postcode datafile at http://www1.auspost.com.au/postcodes/index.asp?sub=2. Remember, most people will search for your church by typing in their postcode.

Email address is the address people looking for a church to worship with should use for enquiries.

Website is the address people looking for a church to worship with will use. This address needs to be current and checked regularly by someone in the congregation.

Description. Here you can type a one-paragraph description of your congregation. Please remember that you are describing your church for people who are considering worshipping with you for the first time. If you tell them you are a "friendly church" you will need to turn on a good welcome.

Service times. List all services of worship here including mid week services.

Church picture. This is to help people recognise your church as they drive down the street looking for you. Make it a clear "from-the-street" picture. Any digital format and file size can be accepted.

Once your details are entered, amendments can be made at http://www.journeyonline.com.au/register/login.php
