Work Health & Safety
“If you build a new house, you must construct a guard rail around your roof to avoid being culpable in the event someone should fall from it.” Deuteronomy 22:8
The Uniting Church in Australia is committed to providing safe places where people are cared for, nurtured and sustained.
The Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod has engaged the services of Aon Hewitt to assist with reviewing the Queensland Synod’s existing Work Health & Safety policies and procedures within the context of the new Work Health & Safety Act 2011
which is effective from 1 January 2012.
The revised Work Health & Safety policies and procedures of The Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod are in the process of being finalised and are progressively
being made available on this internet site for the information of and use by Presbyteries and Congregations of the Queensland Synod. In addition to these updated online resources becoming available, there will be a number of workshops held during 2012 to assist Presbyteries and Congregations of the Queensland Synod better understand their Work Health & Safety responsibilities and obligations.
We would strongly recommend that Presbytery and Congregation leaders review and familiarise themselves with the information that can be found on the following internet links in respect of the new Work Health & Safety Laws:
